International activity of ÎÀÎ Promgaz is aimed at achieving of the following strategic targets:
- Maintenance of ÎÀÎ Promgaz image as a leading research and design industrial center;
- Analysis of foreign energy markets;
- Study of the advanced world experience, approaches and technologies and their adaptation and application in the environment of Russia;
- Searching for and establishing contacts with the world leading experts for their involvement in ÎÀÎ Promgaz works;
- Diversification of the company’s portfolio of contracts thanks to foreign contracts.
The company specialists regularly participate in the activities of the working bodies of the Committee for Sustainable Energy at the UN Economic Committee for Europe (UNECE): Working Party on Gas, acting within its frames the Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Gas Supplies and Utilization, Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Coalmine Methane. ÎÀÎ Promgaz» works in 1 Working Committee Gas Exploration and Production, 4 Working Committee Gas Distribution, 5 Working Committee Use of Gas, Program Committee B Strategy, Economy, Regulation, Special Working Party on R&D of the International Gas Union. Since the establishment in December 2004 of the Methane to Markets International Partnership ÎÀÎ Promgaz represents Russia in the Coal Mine Methane Sub-Committee. As of 2008 the Director General of ÎÀÎ Promgaz A.M. Karasevich occupies the position of the Chairman of the UNECE Working Party on Gas, as well as a plenipotentiary delegate of WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) on behalf of ÎÀÎ Gazprom. Under the programs of scientific & technical cooperation with ÎÀÎ Gazprom, ÎÀÎ Promgaz works with such companies as BASF/Wintershall AG, Gaz de France, E. ON Ruhrgaz AG, RWE Dea AG, N.V. Gasunie, Kogas.
ÎÀÎ Promgaz is developing cooperation with the foreign companies on development of unconventional hydrocarbon resources, distribution and use of natural gas. In particular, cooperation with Gaz de France (France), N.V. Gasunie (the Netherlands), E. ON Ruhrgaz (Germany) is aimed at finding solutions towards implementation of energy saving potential in Russia on the basis of advanced world experience and technologies. A number of American and Australian companies are involved in the project on investigating possible recovery of coalmine methane in Kuzbass.
Leading international experts in the industry are involved in some ÎÀÎ Promgaz works as consultants. Besides, ÎÀÎ Promgaz cooperates with companies of a number of countries in the field of gas equipment development.
